A Single Girl’s Top Five Dating Turn-ons……..When you’re first getting to know someone, it’s easy to send the wrong signals. But, if you’ve been paying attention, you’ve read my article “A Single Girl’s Top Five Dating Turn-offs,” and now you know exactly what not to do!
But since you’re a guy, you’re still completely clueless about what it is that you are supposed to do! (Ha!) Never fear–thingswomenwant.com has your back!
By popular demand, here are my top five dating turn-ons in descending order.
Turn-on #5 Cooking Skills
There is something so sexy about a man who can cook. Maybe I’ve been lucky in this area of dating (one of the precious few areas I’ve been lucky in, I must admit), but at least 90 percent of the men I’ve dated have been better cooks than I am. Some of them have been excellent cooks. It just makes a woman feel so pampered when a man puts all that effort into shopping, preparing, and serving a meal. Maybe it’s because my cooking is not that great, but I am really wowed when a man puts a solid meal in front of me. Even if you’re not a stellar cook, you should still give it a try. It’s the thought that counts.
Turn-on #4 Admitting that you’re wrong
Admitting that you’re wrong is a skill that you should practice–and practice often–with all of the women in your life, not least a potential girlfriend. Showing that you are above pettiness is probably at the top of every woman’s boyfriend wish list. Remember, we girls are natural born communicators. We have been dissecting relationships for most of our lives. Pretending that something didn’t happen or trying to save face is simply not going to fly with us. And when in doubt, if you’re not sure whether or not you’re wrong, you are.
Turn-on #3 You call/text
This is such a cliché, but if you like a girl, you’re not going to get anywhere by playing games with her. Don’t wait for her to call first to tell you how much she enjoyed your date. You don’t need to barrage her with text messages every hour (definitely a turn-off) to let her know you had a good time and think she’s great. Trust me, reaching out to tell her how much you enjoyed your evening together is a major turn-on.
Turn-on #2 Confidence
ATTENTION: Confidence is very different than cockiness. The best way to communicate confidence, of course, is not to try! And the best way to put someone off is to try to be someone that you’re not. Dating is a minefield for everyone, so trust yourself and trust that all of your amazing qualities will shine through effortlessly. There’s nothing sexier than that.
Turn-on #1 Plan interesting dates
Planning something out of the ordinary shows that you see your date as someone special. It shows that you’re thinking of her likes and dislikes and what might please her. It’s your way of saying, “I am definitely relationship material,” and that is something that she will definitely understand. Don’t get me wrong–I like being taken to dinner or doing something simple like going to the movies. But when a guy has planned something especially to make me happy–particularly when it is a surprise–that’s a major turn-on.
